No. PurposeMint is not a bank and does not hold or move your money. Your savings stay in the accounts you already have, and PurposeMint tracks your progress and coaches you along the way.

What if I don't have a bank account yet?

You can still start. You set a goal and build the habit from day one, and PurposeMint can refer you to a partner bank, credit union, CDFI, or community resource that opens accounts. The partner opens and holds the account, and deposits are insured by that institution. A referral is not an approval.

Do I have to switch banks?

No. You keep the checking and savings accounts you already use. There is nothing new to open and nothing to close.
